DELTA SIGMA PI

Hello! Welcome to Delta Sigma Pi at Kent State University!  My name is Owen Hatch, and I am the President of the Beta Pi Chapter for the Fall 2026 semester.

I am beyond honored to have been elected by my fellow brothers to serve as the Fall 2026 president. Stepping into this role as president, I look back at all of the amazing brothers that have come before me and look forward to all of the new brothers to come. To honor them I will strive to do my best in this position and grow alongside my current brothers. I am prepared for the late nights, the tough decisions, and the work that is necessary for this position, and I am equipped with the most useful asset a president can have, a strong and trustworthy executive board. Alongside them I vow to continue to make this chapter one I am proud of. 

I began my journey with the Beta Pi chapter in Fall of 2024 as a nervous and unconfident freshman just looking for something to be a part of. I wasn’t sure of what that would be until I stumbled upon a “Business Majors This Way” sign at an organization fair. Soon after, I was attending events, making friends, and growing both socially and professionally. Delta Sigma Pi’s mix of both professionalism and social aspects is what drew me into joining. I was able to make friends, go to fun events, and build a social community in college while also being able to network, engage with real business professionals, and gain real leadership experience while getting connected to a vast and active alumni network. That’s just not something every organization can offer you. 

I came into Delta Sigma Pi with no notable leadership experience, and when I joined if you had told me I would be president of the largest business fraternity on Kent State’s campus I would have thought you were crazy. But the atmosphere and excitement of joining the exec board drew me towards leadership. I built up my foundation to becoming president by previously serving as the VP of Pledge Education and the Senior Vice President. Both positions were able to show me different aspects of leadership and of Delta Sigma Pi, and each of them taught me valuable lessons that I will take with me into this role as President and into my professional life. 

Now for you reading this message, whether you are a potential new member interested in joining, or someone who knows nothing about us. Just know that joining Delta Sigma Pi will be the best decision you will make in your college career. Whether your goal is new friends, future career advancement, an introduction to the business world, or more. As long as you put in the effort towards DSP, DSP will give you back what you put in and more. So if you’re on the fence about joining or are just unsure of what to do, take that leap, introduce yourself to a current brother, go to an event, and fill out that application. Because I know that the Delta Sigma Pi Beta Pi chapter will be the place for you and we cannot wait to grow as business professionals and brothers together.
